Like Andy Warhol, Paul Valencay was fascinated as a child by celebrity and the exciting world of Hollywood. His interest in art began by recreating sketches of his favorite celebrities. Paul said ?recreating these actors and actresses as a child made me feel like I was almost a part of the celebrity world I so much admired.? The reality was Paul couldn?t have been further away from of all of Hollywood, growing up in Bourges, France. But later in life Paul?s pastime for drawing the stars of Hollywood led to him developing a natural eye for great design and he was able to parley this into a successful artistic career of depicting old Hollywood starlets with a bit of a twist. Paul?s works are collected and owned in many private and corporate collections and he now resides in Los Angeles California where he can view the stars of Hollywood from a much closer distancet.
